This is how Nyoy Volante handles bashing as a ‘hurado’ in ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’
Singer Nyoy Volante shared how he handles bashing as one of the judges in It’s Showtime‘s Tawag Ng Tanghalan.
The said singing competition on TV has already opened doors for the winners. Just recently, the show featured the celebrity edition which gave the opportunity to singers to have another shot in the industry and to show their capabilities as well.
However, it is inevitable that judges of the show receive bashing for their decision. Nyoy said that he knows that criticisms are part of his job as a “hurado”. “We always get criticized. Sa trabahong ito, hindi puwedeng lahat ma-please mo,” the singer said during a recent interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda.
He got bashed when Marlo Mortel, one of the TNT Celebrity Edition All-Star Grand Resbak contenders was eliminated. Nyoy clarified that Marlo was not eliminated completely because they are a team. “Tatlo sila, may matatanggal na isa, but puwede ka pa ring lumaban,” he explained.

Nyoy Volante said that he does not take bashing too seriously as he believes people can have their own opinions. “Right nila yun, e. Right nila yun to have… yung gusto nilang contestant, yung choice nila. And they have their own way of interpreting bakit siya yung mas magaling, and that’s okay,” he said.
The singer added during the interview that whoever will get eliminated, there will still negative comments. He also stressed out that the final decision from the panel of judges comes from five individuals. Each of the judges has their own choice but the majority wins.
