Registered Psychologist Shares Tear-Jerking Story
The Makoi Ortibano Story – A registered psychologist shared a tear-jerking story after facing a family tragedy before the board exams.
The Facebook page “Aksyonradyo Iloilo” has shared the heartbreaking story of Makoi Ortibano, a registered psychologist who faced a roller coaster of emotions before taking the licensure examinations.
Makoi, a resident of Valladolid, Negros Occidental is the breadwinner of their family. He is always dreaming of becoming a registered psychology and eventually completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos.
Ortibano is a working student who took a part-time job in a fast-food chain while studying. However, his father suffered from Chronic Kidney disease and eventually suffered from a mental disorder.
Unfortunately, Makoi’s brother Tomy also suffered from a lung disease and his younger brother Mico has been diagnosed with autoimmune bleeding condition Acute Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia purpura and Dengue.
The aspiring psychologist witnessed the hardships and the sacrifice of his mother just to fulfill their needs and to help him finish his studies. The young man finished his studies and take a Master’s Degree in Psychology and decided to take the licensure examinations to reach his dream.
In September 2019, Makoi’s mother suffered from a stroke and had a heavy heart before taking the board exams. Last November 5, 2019, Ortibano’s mother burst into tears after her son passed the licensure exams and become a registered psychologist.
“Ma,my heart’s desire is your healing. Pero iba si Lord may pa bonus pa. God gave us a bittersweet victory,” Makoi said.
