DOH Warns Public Of Coughs, Cold During Cold Season
DOH – The Department of Health (DOH) reminded the public to stay vigilant of frequent coughs and colds during cold season or “ber” months.
According to ABS-CBN, the health department elaborated that there will be a high trend in ailment cases such as coughs, colds, hiccups, flu, and possibly bronchitis especially in this cold season.
Dr. Ma. Paz Corrales, assistant director of DOH-NCR, said that cases like these should not be disregarded since it might lead to worse conditions such as pneumonia.
She added that it will be harder in the case of an individual who self-medicates and haven’t consulted to a doctor. Corrales advised the public to refrain from taking antibiotics especially on viral diseases, which is immune to antibiotics.
Based on the report, children and elderly have a higher chance of acquiring such diseases due to their low immunity.
The assistant director further urged the public to take enough sleep and eat healthy foods in order to become more immune to diseases.
