Pregnant Teacher Goes Through Treacherous Terrain To Reach Class

PREGNANT TEACHER – Jay Ann Salibio, a nine-months pregnant teacher becomes an inspiration to many because of her story.

Because there’s nobody that could be a substitute for her, she chose to continue teaching. Even though she could give birth anytime, she still wanted to serve her students.

Her school is located in Patag Elementary School in San Jose, Mindoro Occidental. However, the path she needs to take is not an easy one, especially if you’re pregnant.

This pregnant teacher needs to walk 2-3 hours just to reach the school. She needed to pass through a rocky sea and climb cliffside paths.

Adding to the difficulty, when it becomes a high tide, the water could reach up the chest. Along with this, walking could the path could be a danger since it filled with sharp stones.

After walking a treacherous rocky sea path, she still needed to climb along a cliffside. One wrong move and they could fall several feet.

With her difficulty in getting to school, she hoped that the Department of Education (DepEd) would send a substitute.

In a video posted by GMA, teacher Jay Ann had 12 days left before her due date. But, it could happen anytime soon.

With this, the other teacher in the school said that they are more than willing to sub for her classes. They added that they would do it even without additional pay.

The pregnant teacher recalled how ecstatic she was when she got accepted as a teacher in Patag Elementary School. But, to her surprise, she found that it wasn’t a “patag” at all.
