A Teacher’s Meme Exam Goes Viral On Social Media
MEME EXAM – The meme culture has definitely made its mark on today’s Millenials.
This is surely apparent in one Filipino Teacher’s exam. The amazing teacher created a meme format for his students as a bonus activity.
The teacher, Allan Lomeda Navida said that he has been doing this type of activity for years now. He even thought that only his friends and relatives read and like his posts.
Allan uploaded his student’s answers on Facebook for his “bonus activity”. He created a meme format where his students made their own meme.
The teacher used the US vs PH meme. For context, the meme is basically showing the cultural differences between the US and the PH when it comes to everyday scenarios.
Because of the insane amount of support from netizens on Facebook, Allan said that the answers with the most “😂” reaction will get a special prize from him.
This finals, I thought of using memes for one, they are mainstream (am aware of how engage my students on social media and yes “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!) and two, they’re very entertaining plus a good avenue to send the message I’d like to convey—on a creative and subtle manner.

The meme was very timely as his subject was Understanding Culture, Society & Politics (UCSP). He added that culture is diverse and people have different ways of living their day-to-day.
It’s important to remember that: “no culture is superior than other culture.” It’s just that we have different ways on how we do things caused by different factors like religion, geographical condition, etc.
