According to SunStar, this was declared after the secretariat of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Western Visayas published the New Wage Order on November 11 (Monday).

Labor representative of RTWPB Western Visayas division Wennie Sancho said that the new wage order will take effect 15 days after the publication.

Also a secretary general of GAWA (General Alliance of Workers Associations), Sancho said that this welcoming development is an early holiday gift for the workers since this will be included in their 13th month pay.

Sancho added that the increase will somehow stabilize the purchasing power of the workers especially that holiday season is fast approaching.

Based on the report, the Wage Order No. 25 states that a ₱30 daily pay hike will be provided for workers among non-agriculture, industrial and commercial establishments employing more than 10 employees.

The new rate will be ₱395 from the current ₱350 plus cost of living allowance of ₱15.

As for employees from establishments with less than 10 workers, they will get an additional of ₱15, thus, it will be ₱310 per day.

As for the agricultual sactor, plantation workers will gain a ₱20 increase, thus, the wage rate will be ₱315.
