Thai Video Game Addict Found Dead After Playing All Night
VIDEO GAME ADDICT – A teenager from Thailand was found dead after playing video games all night during his school holiday.
Piyawat Harikun, 17, used his free time from classes to stay inside his room and play video games on his computer. His parents said that he would stay up all night playing games.
They added that when the sun came up, he would draw the curtains and continue with his gaming. His parents would come to his room with food and asked him to stop but he refused.
Piyawat’s father Jaranwit, came into his bedroom on Monday after and found his son collapsed on the floor. The boy was slumped against a PC tower on the ground.
The father, being a trained air force officer, tried to revive his son. However, it was too late, as his son had already died.
According to an article from DailyMail, the medics who examined the body said that the teenager died from a stroke. They believed that it was caused by playing games constantly throughout the night.
Because of the events that have transpired, Jaranwit admitted that his son had a problem with his addiction. With this, he warned other parents not to allow their children to be hooked on gaming.
He stated that his son was smart and always did well in school. However, he had a major problem with his gaming addiction.
The father added that he tried to warn his son about the non-stop long hours of games. His son promised to lessen the time spent on his gaming but it was too late.
I want my son’s death to be an example and warning for parents whose children are game addicts. They need to be more strict on their children’s playing hours otherwise they could end up like my son
