Laguna Man Arrested For Robbing Motels Using Son’s Holloween Mask
LAGUNA MAN – A man from Laguna was arrested by the authorities for robbing two motels using his son’s Holloween mask and an eight-inch knife.
However, unlike the popular Netflix series, La Casa De Papel, this man didn’t have El Profesor behind his back. This led to him being caught by the authorities hours after his robbery.
The man that was arrested was actually the security guard of the Motel he robbed. Reports from GMA said that he was suspended from work.
He wore a helmet and his son’s Halloween mask when he robbed the motel. The suspect was able to get in without much trouble because there wasn’t anybody there at the time.
After getting into the first motel, he came into a second one close to the place he robbed. The cashier at the time ran to close the door, however, the robber was able to force himself inside.
The robber was identified by the authorities as Marineco Olivera. He was able to steal P35,000 from the motels.
As per the report, Olivera made a huge mistake in his robbery. He carelessly left the knife he used in one of the motels.
When authorities came to investigate, they found out that the knife still had the price tag and bar code on it. With this, the police were able to trace back where Olivera bought the knife.
Afterward, with the help of the store’s CCTV, the authorities were able to unmask the suspect. Then, eight hours later, the police were able to arrest Olivera.
When he was caught, he didn’t deny the crimes charged against him. Reports said that he got desperate because he had to pay his debt that he got from his gambling addiction.
He also admitted that he bought the knife three days prior to the robbery. Adding to this, he also said that the mask he wore was his son’s Halloween mask.
