Isko Moreno To Suspend 99 Village Officials in Manila
ISKO MORENO – Actor-turned-politician Isko Moreno said he would suspend the 99 barangay officials in the city of Manila who have failed to clear the roads in their areas.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is among the most talked-about politicians today. It’s not because he’s a former celebrity but due to his passion for public service.
He has made several positive changes in the city including the clearing operations, jobs for PWD and senior citizens, and the rehabilitation of Manila’s historic areas.
Isko Moreno frequently shares videos of him updating the people about the progress in the city of Manila, announcing new policies, or slamming people who are not complying with his directives.
In a previous article, the 45-year-old politician ranted about a barangay official who allegedly sabotages his efforts to clean the city. He believed that the chairman intentionally placed that debris to humiliate him.
Previously, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged all government units to participate in the road clearing operations. However, 99 barangay officials in Manila allegedly failed to clear their streets.
Based on a report from Manila Bulletin, Isko Moreno said he would immediately suspend all the barangay officials who are not cooperating with the road clearing operations.
“The moment we received the recommendation of DILG, we will suspend before the city council. I told them that President Duterte is serious about the directives given to the DILG. I told them so many times because Sec. Ano is serious about it. They were given ample time. They were given enough information,” said the mayor.
