Iron Maiden, BABYMETAL, & Dragonforce Highlights Pulp Summer Slam 2020

IRON MAIDEN – The Philippines’ biggest music festival has announced its lineup for its 2020 show.

Pulp Summer Slam’s, the country’s premier heavy music festival brings the legendary metal band, Iron Maiden. The band’s “Legacy of the Beast” tour will come to Manila by May 16, 2020.

Their tour has been described as the most extravagant and most eye-popping show they ever had. Pulp Summer Slam 2020 will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

This would also be the first time Iron Maiden will give a performance in Manila. Along with Iron Maiden, Pulp is also bringing in BABYMETAL and Dragonforce.

The power metal icon Dragonforce is best known for its fast guitar solos and fantasy-themed lyrics. While Japanese kawaii-metal pioneers, BABYMETAL, were recognized for reinventing the genre.

BABYMETAL used to include three young girls, “Moa Kikuchi, Yui Mizuno, and Suzuka Nakamoto“. They are best known for their stage names “Moa-Metal, Yui-Metal, and Su-Metal“.

Su-Metal is their lead vocalist while Yui-Metal and Moa-Metal were the scream and dance. With them are the instrumentalists of the band, KamiBand or Gods of Music.

However, after a physical injury, Yui-Metal couldn’t perform live with the band. This led to her ultimately deciding to depart from the band and pursue her own dream career as Mizuno Yui.

Both Dragonforce and BABYMETAL have recently released new albums. These are Extreme Power Metal and Metal galaxy, respectively.

Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast world tour was named after a comic and mobile game released by the band in 2017. Fans could expect their 80’s hits and songs from their latest albums.
