Woman Found Dead After Being Strangled By Python
WOMAN STRANGLED BY PYTHON – Authorities have reported that a woman was found dead after being strangled by a python.
According to reports, the house she was found in was filled with over 140 snakes. One of which was a large reticulated python.
These types of snakes could grow up to 31.5 feet long. With a size like this, it’s quite easy for them to take down large prey and sometimes, even humans.
The woman that was killed by the python was a 36-year-old named Laura Hurst. She was discovered by the authorities at a property in Battle Ground, Indiana.
Based on a report from Lad Bible, the Indiana police stated that Hurst was keeping her own snakes at the property. She often visits twice a week.
Indiana Police Spokesperson Kim Riley said that Hurst was “Checking on her snakes”. The snake house was owned by a Benton County Sheriff who resides next door.
The Sherrif, Don Munson, found Hurst on Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, Munson couldn’t save her life in time.
Apart from the snakes, the house had no permanent residents. The house was also specifically modified and renovated to accommodate the collection of snakes.
Munson told the Journal & Courier that Hurst’s death was a ‘tragic accident with loss of human life’. He also stated that he would give his full cooperation with authorities.
The reticulated python is a snake species in the family Pythonidae native to South and Southeast Asia. It is the world’s longest snake.
It is among the three heaviest snakes. They are also nonvenomous constrictors. People have been killed (and in at least two reported cases, eaten) by reticulated pythons.
