College Student Ends His Own Life Hours Before Graduation, GF Charged for ‘Encouraging’ Him To Do It
COLLEGE STUDENT – Girlfriend of the college student repeatedly told him to take his own life.
Lots of us have had suicidal thoughts at some point but when we look or think about the people who love us, it all disappears. Feeling down made us even stronger and teaches how to cope up with this difficult life.
As long as there are people who show us love and care, we should not be thinking about ending our lives because there lots of things to be enjoyed. There are also lots of experts who are willing to help people who have suicidal thoughts.
Based on a report from TIME, there was a college student who decided to end his own life hours before his graduation. His girlfriend has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly encouraging him to do it.
In May, a student named Alexander Urtula took his own life on the day of his graduation at Boston College. Massachusetts prosecutors charged the 21-year-old Korean named Inyoung You. She was a former economics student at the said school but she withdrew from her classes in August.
According to the report, the authorities found out that Inyoung was physically, psychologically, verbally abusive towards her boyfriend. It was based on the thousands of text messages the couple exchanged in months.
“The investigation revealed that Ms. You used manipulative attempts and threats of self-harm to control [Urtula]… she was aware of his spiraling depression and suicidal thoughts brought on by her abuse.” Atty. Rachael Rollins said.
Based on the report, Inyoung is currently in South Korea and his representative is urging her to return to the US voluntarily. The lawyer has prepared a pursue extradition in case she doesn’t return.
Atty. Rachel Rollins also said the friends and family of both Urtula and You were aware of their “abusive relationship.”
