According to ABS-CBN News, as of now 27 companies in the online lending business have been shut down as NPC continues to probe consumer complaints, says NPC commissioner Mon Liboro.

Liboro said that over 5,000 complaints have been filed. He added that they are currently cautious in this issue since there are online lending firms that are legitimate and helpful.

As per the report, they are currently in partnership with GooglePlay, considering the lending applications are found there. As of now, the agency are currently looking for a permanent solution.

Furthermore, the Securities and Exchange Commission also commanded the closure of some online lending firms because of abusive collection practices.

For incidents regarding the abusive practices, Liboro urged the victims to contact NPC hotline 234-2228 local 114 or Facebook page.
