Shopping Malls to Implement Adjusted Operating Schedules (November 11 – January 10, 2020)
All malls in Metro Manila is set to implement the adjusted operating schedules starting November 11, 2019 until January 10, 2020.
The shopping malls over the Metro Manila will implement new operating schedules starting November 11, 2019 to January 10, 2020. The malls will open at 11:00 am and will close a few hours later than the regular schedule.
The move of the mall operators set the adjusted operating schedules as requested by the Metro Manila Development Authority. MMDA also allows malls to open early during weekends. Mall operators will be also prohibited to conduct mall sales during weekdays.
MMDA ordered the adjusted mall operating schedules to reduce the worsening traffic condition over the National Capital Region during the Yuletide Season. The announcement garnered various reactions from the online community.
Some netizens agree that the adjusted mall hours could help to resolve the heavy traffic in Metro Manila during rush hour.
