A Rainbow Painted Pedestrian Lane To Show The Manila Supports LGBT Community.
The Manila government painted a rainbow pedestrian lane near its city hall before dawn on Monday to show the LGBT community that they would be considered is the city’s policies. That’s what Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said on his video posted on Facebook.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno shares a live video on his Facebook while his men working on the rainbow pedestrian lane to show his support and love for the LGBT community. The pedestrian lane is located at the corner of Arroceros and Natividad streets, a busy intersection that leads to the recently renovated Liwasang Bonifacio and is near a mall, he noted.
“Pinangako ko sa (I promised the) LGBT society that we just want to show you in our own little way how sensitive we are with your plight,” Moreno said in a Facebook video.
“We want to make you feel that you are part of the society with regard to the policy of the city government of Manila,” he added.
Moreno said he planned to have more rainbow pedestrian lanes in the city ahead of a pride march next year. Every June, the whole world celebrates Pride Month – a series of protests in New York City that started the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
“We just want to show you in our own little way how sensitive we are with your plight, we want to make you feel that you are part of society with regard to the policy of the city government of Manila,” Mayor Moreno announced on his Facebook Live this morning.
Netizens compliment what Manila Mayor Isko Moreno did. Here are some of the reactions of netizens on his Facebook live earlier this morning.
@Jamaica Tagaylo “Wow….nice good job!!! Brilliant idea, Mayor Isko Moreno did. Everything or even the toughest or the durability of a thing, need maintenance and Mayor Isko Moreno have no doubt of maintaining it. He show’s it with no doubt. What a tough Mayor YOU ARE!!!”

Today, the Pedestrians walk on the newly painted rainbow-colored pedestrian lane in Arroceros corner Natividad Street of Manila. The initiative was done by the Manila City government to show support to the LGBTQ community.
