Julia Barretto’s career after controversy
After the cheating and ghosting controversy, the question now arises, what happened to the career of Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto?
The said controversy that involved the young actress and her Between Maybes leading man Gerald Anderson and his ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo became the talk of the town for several weeks. After the issue subsided, everyone went back to their normal routine.
However, an article by entertainment columnist Jun Nardo for Pang-Masa talked about the negative effect of the controversy to the daughter of Marjorie Barretto. Her former love team partner and ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia went solo in a commercial for a popular fast-food chain. They used to endorse together the said brand.
Based on the article, people blamed the absence of the actress in the commercial to the controversy. This is especially that Julia has no known regular show yet unlike Joshua who is now being paired with Janella Salvador in The Killer Bride.
Meanwhile, Bea Alonzo is set to do a reunion movie with John Lloyd Cruz and Gerald Anderson is busy for the MPBL and his TVC is still airing. “Parang unfair naman kay Julia na parang naging biktima sa resulta ng kontrobersiya,” Nardo said in his article.
On the other hand, the young actress now ventures into vlogging. She now has thousands of subscribers on her YouTube channel and fans warmly welcomed her new endeavor after the controversy. The first video she shared was about her preparation for the annual ABS-CBN Ball. Her fans are anticipating more videos from her.
