CFA Society Philippines Awards UCPB As Best Fund Manager
UCPB – The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Philippines awarded the United Coconut Planters Bank as the best fund manager this 2019.
There are a lot of banks in the Philippines that provide services to a large number of people. One of them is the United Coconut Planters Bank or more commonly called as UCPB.
The said bank is one of the largest banking firms in the country. It was founded by businessman Jose Cojuangco. It is one of the multi-awarded banks in PH.
In fact, based on a report on The Philippine Star, UCPB was recently hailed as the best fund manager by Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Philippines. It is not its first time to receive such award.
According to the report, in 2018, UCPB was also named as the best fund manager by CFA Society Philipines. Its Peso Bond Fund once again paved the way for the award.
It was under the Long-Term Bond Fund, Pure Fair Value Profit and Loss Valuation (PESO-FVPL) category. According to Arturo Lipio, the first vice president of the bank, the awards for two (2) straight years proves the commitment of the bank in bringing the investors long-term capital growth.
“The Best Managed Fund Award looks at long-term historical fund performance – both the risk and return aspects of the fund – and factors in the length of the investment period,” Lipio expressed based on the report.
According to UCPB Investments and Portfolio Management Department Head Karen Khristine Jonas, in making decisions, the portfolio managers of the bank are considering the sake of macro economy first before the individual firms.
Congratulations UCPB for a back-to-back achievement! May you continue to serve the citizens well.
