Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Hits Parts of North Cotabato
EARTHQUAKE ALERT – The state seismology agency PHIVOLCS reported that a magnitude 4.6 earthquake hits North Cotabato.
On Tuesday morning (October 15, 2019), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that an earthquake struck 12 kilometers (km) southeast of Tulunan, North Cotabato around 7:55 am.
Phivolcs said that the powerful earthquake is tectonic in origin and has a depth of five kilometers.
The volcanology agency said that the strong tremor was Instrumental Intensity I in Tupi, South Cotabato and Intensity II and an Instrumental Intensity III in the City of Kidapawan.
As of this writing, there is no damage has been reported and no aftershocks are expected, according to Phivolcs.
