Teacher Receives Native Chicken As Gift On Teachers Days

Student Gives Teacher Native Chicken As Gift For Teachers Day

TEACHERS DAY – A day to celebrate the dedication of our educators. Often times, students thank teachers by giving flowers, or cakes, but not this teacher from General Santos.

A public school teacher was shocked as she received a native chicken as a gift from one of her students. She thought her student was just joking when he asked her if he could bring a chicken as a gift.

As the saying goes, children don’t lie, and in this case, this particular one doesn’t joke around either. The teacher, Talon Claude from Banwalan Primary school, posted the picture on her Facebook early Saturday.

The public school teacher was surprised as one of her third-grade students actually gave her a native chicken as a present. Her post on Facebook went viral and now has almost 4k reactions and shared 2,800 times.

She uploaded the pictures with the caption “Wala Yang flowers, chocolates, cakes and balloons niyo sa Native Manok ko! Hahaha..😍😍 Thank you LEGASPI.🤗 Pinaka Happy Teacher si maam😆😇💝 It doesn’t matter how expensive or how cheap it is. It’s always the thought that counts.❤️”

Based on a report by Sunstar, Claude asked students the day before to bring anything they could for the teachers. She added that there were only three of them.

Her student raised his hand and asked if he could bring a chicken. She then told her students that they could bring whatever they want as long as it’s from the heart.

She also added that they should ask for their parent’s permission first. Claude said that they never mentioned the names of the teachers they would give gifts to.

She then said during an online interview with Sunstar that she thought the boy was just joking about the chicken. On Friday, one of her co-teachers called her and said that her students got her a chicken.
