BRIDGE W/O RIVER – Here is the reason behind the construction of the viral ‘bridge w/o water’ ins Southern Leyte.

Nowadays, people could easily air their thoughts and opinion about people and things that make them wonder. Once a picture or video is uploaded on the internet, there’s a great chance netizens will react.

There was a photo of a bridge that that made rounds on social media. It caught the attention of the netizens after they spotted that something was missing on the photo.

Lots Filipino netizens expressed their reaction on the bridge. Some of them made fun of it while others criticized the government officials who manned the construction of the viral ‘bridge without river’ in Southern Leyte. Even the residents wondered why a bridge was created in the area.

It can be seen on the photos that the viral bridge was built on a seemingly dry land and ground level. The controversial bridge at Bantoc National Road was built in 2015. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) finally reacted to the issue.

Based on a report from GMA News, the DPWH said the construction of the P23 million bridge has a logical reason. The government agency said the bridge in Southern Leyte was built to stop the road from sinking or collapsing.

DPWH said they had to reconstruct the road 3 times in the past because of the problem. They learned that the road is sinking due to the waterway or creek and it’s making the ground soft.

According to the report, DPWH came up with a decision to build a road like a bridge so that they could make a good quality of foundation into the ground. They also added railings to keep the motorists and passerby safe in case the road sank.

They hope that the online community will stop poking fun and judging the ‘bridge with no water’ in Southern Leyte. Watch the video below:
