Venus is also known as the sister planet of the Earth since they almost have the same size. It is named after the Roman counterpart of the Greek goddess of love Aphrodite and also the only planet to be named after a female.

According to Space, it is known as the hottest planet in the Solar System. The dense atmosphere of the planet traps heat and it reaches at about 870 degrees Fahrenheit or 465 degrees Celsius.

That atmosphere is also describe as “hellish” since it consists of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid clouds. Aside from that, the planet’s surface is very, very, VERY dry. It is also a volcanic landscape covered with plains, high volcanoes and ridged plateaus.

There are four main mountain ranges in this hot planet:

  • Maxwell
  • Frejya
  • Akna
  • Danu

Venus takes 225 Earth days to orbit around the Sun. Days, however, are longer than years since one day takes 117 Earth days long.
