Taj Mahal of Cebu is dedicated to the grandmother of Ellen Adarna
The grandmother of former daring actress Ellen Adarna has her own version of the Taj Mahal located in the province of Cebu.
It is known to many that Ellen came from a wealthy clan in the said province in the Visayas. Her family owns a chain of motels and hotels in Cebu. When she entered show business, many already knew that to earn money is not her main goal.
Unknown to many, there was a Roman-style temple dedicated to the matriarch of the Adarna clan, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna. Based on the report from Project Lupad, the magnificent structure was built back in 2012 and it was named Temple of Leah. It is located on top of the hill in barangay Busay in Cebu City, Philippines and earned the tag “Taj Mahal of Cebu”.
Visitors can see the huge bronze statue of Leah in the middle of the temple. It has 24 chambers, a museum, an art gallery, and a library containing the belongings of the Adarna matriarch. This picturesque structure has become the symbol of love for Leah Adarna.
Among the prominent features outside the temple is the fountain with three bare maiden statues and four seated horses. In addition, the two gigantic lions with brass angels at the grand staircase will surely amaze the visitors. Apparently, this is another proof that shows the wealth of the Adarna clan.
The Temple of Leah has become a tourist attraction in Cebu. Anyone can visit for an affordable entrance fee of P75 while the car parking fee is P30.
