Boracay Dragon Boat Team Pulls Out Competition In Taiwan After Sea Tragedy
BORACAY DRAGON BOAT – The manager of the Boracay dragon boat team said they pull out from the international competition in Taiwan.
On Wednesday, September 25, the Boracay Dragon Boat team sink off the island of Boracay. They were training for the international dragon boat competition in Taiwan on November 8 to 10.
7 paddlers died while 14 others survived the massive wave and were immediately brought to the nearby hospital. Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Armand Balilo said the strong current of the seawater caused their boat to sink.

In a previous article, a netizen shared the footage of the rowers floating on the water after their boat sunk. All of them were dispersed by the huge waves.
Based on a report from the Manila Times, the manager of the Boracay Dragonforce team, Thomas Muller, announced that they decided to pull out from the International dragon boat competition in Taiwan after the sea tragedy. “Yes that’s what we’ll do,” said Muller.

According to the report, the manager took to the social media to request for donations to help the family of the victims. The survivors of the sea tragedy ae currently recovering in various hospitals in the province. President of the Philippine Canoe Kayak and Dragon Boat Federation (PCKDBF), Jonne Go, condoled with the relatives of the 7 victims.
“It is a sad loss for the sport… I extend my condolences to their families,” said Go.

Based on the report, the PCKDBF officials and Jonne Go will travel to Boracay Island on Friday, September 27. “They were friends of ours and the Boracay team are club members.”
