Jessy Mendiola Reveals Why She Decided To Stay With ABS-CBN
JESSY MENDIOLA – The Kapamilya actress revealed that her reason for staying with ABS-CBN was her upcoming TV-series, “Sandugo”.
In the past months, there were rumors speculating that Jessy had plans to switch networks. This was sparked by an Instagram post where Jessy wrote “Old endings and new beginnings”.
During a media conference for her movie with Arjo Atayde last March 26, Jessy was asked about the rumor. She then said “Para sa akin po, kung mas may trabaho naman po doon, bakit naman hindi, di ba”.
But she stressed that she was still in touch with ABS-CBN management. In a previous article, she admitted that she was a bit frustrated because she still doesn’t have a project.
In the press conference for their TV-series “Sandugo” she was asked if the project was the reason she stayed. She briefly answered with “Yes po. I just want to set it straight. Yes po.”
According to an article by Philstar, Jessy hoped that her role would leave a mark to her audience. She then said that she accepted the role because she believed she hasn’t proven herself yet.
She stated that she didn’t get a chance to prove herself because she still hasn’t gotten a more complex role. Afterwards, Jessy said that there’s always a first time for everything.
The actress also gave insight on her thought process in accepting projects or roles. She stated that if your not passionate or excited about a project, you might as well not take it.
She said that if you would, you won’t be able to give it your hundred percent. That would then be unfair to your co-workers, your bosses and the production staff, Jessy added.
With this, Jessy assured fans that she loves her role in “Sandugo”. She was also thankful to be given another role and had promised to give her hundred percent for the character.
