However, a part of Boracay Islas was temporarily closed after a video of a foreign woman allegedly letting her child defecate on the shore surfaced on the internet. The viral video elicited negative reaction from the Filipinos.

A few days after, a beach guard found the alleged diaper buried by the woman in the closed portion of the beach. The management then ordered to reopen that portion after it passed on the water quality test.

Recently, a diving instructor from Korea discovered an outfall pipe that allegedly discharges human feces into the seawater of Boracay. It can be seen on the video that a sea turtle stuck its head on the outlet of the pipe. The video was shared on the ABS-CBN News Youtube Channel.

Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) USEC. Benny Antiporda said it possible that the waste that came out of the pipe could be human excrement. The pipe was owned by a water concessionaire in Boracay.

DENR have already issued a cease and desist order against the owner of the outfall pipe. The concessionaire has already stopped the activity after receiving the order. The government agency said it’s still safe to swim in Boracay.
