Boracay Beach Guard Found Alleged Diaper Buried by Foreigner

DIAPER – A Boracay beach guard found a used diaper that was allegedly buried by the foreigner on the beachfront.

Boracay beach is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. Millions of tourist from different countries around the world visit this paradise island.

Last year, the crown jewel of the country’s tourism industry was closed for up to 6 months for redevelopment. On October 2018, the beach was opened in public but the government ordered that tourism will be highly regulated.

Following a previous article, a foreigner went viral for letting her toddler poop on Boracay beach Station 1 on August 12. A local tourist shared the footage that elicited reactions from the netizens.

It can be seen on the video that a woman was burying the diaper with poop on the shore while the other woman was washing the child using the ocean water.

The video sharer said she and her companions were grossed after seeing the two foreigners cleaning the toddler in the beach. They immediately got out of the water she said.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, a portion of Boracay beach was temporarily closed for cleanup after the defecation incident. During the clean-up last Wednesday night, a beach guard found a used diaper on the beachfront.

PNP Chief of Malay Municipal Police Station Jess Baylon said the beach guard saw a white plastic on the sand and dig it. He said it could be the used diaper the foreigner’s toddler.

According to the report, the cops and Boracay Inter-Agency Rehabilitation Management Group (BIARMG) can’t confirm if that was the diaper on the video yet. The general manager of BIARMG, Natividad Bernardino, ordered to reopen that portion of Station 1 after it passed on the water quality test.

“Yung purpose ng pansamantalang pagsara is to let the public know na this should be taken seriously, pinaghirapan natin ang paglinis ng Boracay kaya dapat lang natin itong panatilihing malinis,” he said.

Based on the report, they are planning to put public restrooms in the place to prevent the incident from happening again.
