MRT-3 Aims On Adding 3 More Operational Dalian Train Sets
MRT-3 – The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) aims to insert three sets of trains from CRRC Dalian Co. into the system.
According to a report from GMA News, Mike Capati, director of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3, said that they are doing their best to make sure that the Dalian trains will be inserted possibly this month.
The system is currently waiting for the approval of Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Japanese maintenance provider Sumitomo.
Capati further added that they have already accepted three Dalian train, further adding that within few days’ notice, they can insert the sets since Sumitomo agrees on whatever conditions they have.
As per the report, CRRC Dalian Co. provided 48 trains that were bought by the Aquino administration way back in 2016 but were never used due to the incompatibility and being overweight of the trains to the system.
Capati further said that this will be of great help if they can make the trains fully operational. The Dalia trains can serve at about 10, 000 up to 20, 000 passengers daily.
The Transit Line 3 earlier announced that it will provide free rides to government employees in lieu of the celebration of the 119th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service (PSC). The next batch is 5PM to 7PM this day.
