According to an article in ABS-CBN, this was in response to the controversial livestream in March where a self-professed white supremacist attacked two mosques online in Cristchurch, killing the people inside.

Along with YouTube, they drew flak for the failure to detect the said broadcast and struggling to take down its uploads that spread online.

Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, as well as other world leaders then initiated a campaign called “Christchurch Call to Action” to fight against online extremism.

The social media giant said on Tuesday that it is on the way to update and modify its policies regarding extremism and online hate.

The London Metropolitan Police said that it will provide the socmed platform the footage for training the AI by the forearms command unit.

The videos will be recorded on body cameras from the platfrom that the London’s Firearms Command officers will wear during exercises.

As per the report, this is in order for the platform to capture the volume of images required to train their machine learning tools. In other words, with this, its AI will be able to identify actual first person shooter (FPS) incidents more accurately and immediately remove them.

The London cops said that the footage will be amalgamated with the video the platform is using from the US law enforcement agencies.

The artificial intelligence will also help prevent the glorifying of said acts and promoting toxic ideologies that resulted in these actions.
