During this time of the month, women endure pain, bloating, and an emotional state of mind. And since there are significant changes at this time of the month, there are some things that women must know – the Dos and Don’ts if you have your period.

DOS:

  • REST – Resting during your period is a must as the female hormones are at its lowest at this time.
  • EAT RIGHT – Eat the right kind of foods and don’t indulge into your cravings right away.
  • HEATING PADS – Application heat during your period might calm and lessen your pain as according to Super Jennie, it has a similar effect to OTC painkillers for cramps.
  • CHANGE PADS REGULARLY – Make it a priority in every time of your month to change your pad regularly to decrease chance of infection in your sensitive area.

DON’TS:

  • AVOID SUGAR-RICH & SALTY FOODS – Salty foods accordingly contribute to bloating that women feels during their period and it can possibly worsen the cramps.
  • NO TO HEAVY WORKOUT – Intense physical activities can have a bad effect. But if you really want to, then do it minimally like doing a simple chore as it can relieve painful cramps.
  • AVOID CAFFEINE – Temporarily, skip the coffee as it only worsens your discomfort and pain.
  • AVOID CLEANSERS WITH SCENT – We all want that powdery scent, however, for our sensitive area, do not use a cleanser with strong fragrance. Choose the one that does not have scent.
  • DON’T SMOKE – Smoking can make period much worse.
