Still Unidentified Suspect Shot An Army in Cotabato City
ARMY – A still unidentified suspect shot a member of the military while he was aboard his motorcycle in Cotabato City.
Undeniably, there are lines of work that are more prone to the risk of losing lives than other jobs. These include those in the security forces like the military and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Every time a member of the military or PNP was shot, the possibility that the motive was work-related could not be disregarded right away. Recently, in Cotabato, another member of the security forces lost his life.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, an army was shot in Cotabato City. The victim was identified as Sergeant Mike Apolinario Elumba. He was aboard his motorcycle when the incident happened.
When he was driving along the Maria Clara Street in Barangay Heights Mother, the 33 year old victim met the incident that took his life. According to Police Station 2 Commander Police Captain Rustom Pastolero, the suspect went near Elumba and shot him.
Based on the report, Pastolero also expressed that Elumba was from the town to buy spare parts for his motorcycle. He was probably spied by the suspect.
The victim was a resident of Barangay Heights 10. He is assigned at the 3rd Scout Ranger in Pagadian City.
As of this writing, the police authorities are still investigating the incident. They are also reportedly looking for CCTV footage to help identify the suspect of the incident.
