Globe Telecom Initiates Relief Operations In North Iloilo And Ilocos Norte

GLOBE TELECOM – Globe Telecom recently organized a relief operations in towns in Northern Iloilo and Ilocos Norte.

According to Inquirer, the telco firm initiated these operations in about three towns located at the northern part of Iloilo.

The mentioned three towns are placed under State of Calamity due to prolonged bad weather that hindered the livelihood of fishermen residing in coastal areas, which eventually leading to a food shortage that affected at about 18,000 families in the area.

The three municipalities that were affected by the bad weather are Carles, Estancia and Concepcion, in which 10 sacks of rice each was given to a total of 15,034 families residing in about 32 barangays.

As per the report, Globe also collaborated with the ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya to give meal packs, which contains five kilos of rice and five assorted canned goods each, to 486 families in the municipality of Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

The telco firm also provided the Libreng Tawag and Charging Services in Barangay 35 Gabu Sur in the city of Laoag, Ilocos Norte. The City of Laoag is also placed under the State of Calamity because of heavy rains and large floods that were caused by extreme tropical storm Ineng, now internationally called Bailu.
