Driver Taken Under Police Custody For Allegedly Cocking Gun At Traffic Enforcer

DRIVER – On Thursday, the driver of the armored van was arrested for allegedly cocking a gun at a traffic enforcer in Makati City.

The Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed lots of traffic enforcers in every public roads to help pedestrians, make sure traffic rules are followed and advice traffic violators. Their job is a huge help to the big cities.

We can’t deny that there are still lots of people who violate the traffic rules. On July, the Manila city Mayor Isko Moreno cause a road violator during his surprise inspection in the highway.

There are still lots of people who need to learn and obey the traffic rules. Most of these violators exceed speeding limits, traffic signals, and illegal parking.

Makati is among the populous city in Metro Manila. Based on a report from Inquirer, the said city records 58,753 traffic violation from January to May in 2017.

Recently, a driver of an armored van named Reynante Benian was nabbed by the authorities for allegedly cocking and pointing a weapon at a traffic enforcer. The incident happened on Thursday morning in Makati city.

According to the report, the 28-year-old suspect was driving an Armored Transport Plus Inc. (ATPI) van. The victim is a Makati Parking Authority (MAPA) enforcer named Erwin Ramos.

Cop’s initial investigation showed that the traffic enforcer confronted the driver of the van with plate number RJY-689 due to illegal parking. He posted the armored van along Ormaza Street corner Dela Rosa Street in Brgy. Lorenzo.

The suspect suddenly pulled out his weapon, cocked it twice, and pointed it on the enforcer. Ramos then called for assistance from the Makati police community precinct (PCP) -5. Pat. Armi Gorgolon helped Benian.

Based on the report, the authorities recovered 12 gauge shotgun and 2 pieces of cartridges. The suspect was taken to the precinct for documentation. A complaint for grave threat was filed against the driver.
