‘Ang Probinsyano’ of Coco Martin is set to face a new rival, the ‘Beautiful Justice’ of GMA 7
The primetime series of Coco Martin, Ang Probinsyano, is set to face a new rival on its timeslot, the Beautiful Justice of the Kapuso network.
AP has been airing for three years now and reigning the ratings of its primetime slot. Meanwhile, GMA has tried several formulas to beat the story of Cardo Dalisay. Now, the Kapuso network is introducing a new action-drama series. This will feature three actresses – Yasmien Kurdi, Gabbi Garcia, and Bea Binene.
Beautiful Justice director Mark Reyes shared a few insights regarding the challenges the show has to face, based on the article from Philippine Entertainment Portal. “So it’s the same, life is a circle. So, I’m the one who’s challenging the bigger guy and we’ll see how far we go, how we fare. But, of course, we’re pulling out all the stops—from the yacht scene to the concert, GMA’s giving me all the support,” he said.
The director also said that if people are looking for something new, the upcoming Kapuso series is a perfect option. It will be the third time of Direk Mark to challenge Ang Probinsyano. Previously, he directed the remake of Encantadia and The Cure that both aired on the same timeslot. Based on the article, The Cure was anticipated to air for 6 weeks only but it was able to finish one season which is equivalent to 13 weeks.
Direk Mark also mentioned the all-female lead characters of the new soap opera. “This is also the next show that will feature an all-female ensemble in the lead after Encantadia. Encantadia had four females. We have three females here so who knows, right?” he said. Based on the article, the director said that the viewers might be looking for ” women empowerment on primetime”.
