Man Dies Saving Co-Workers From Drowning In Zambales

MAN – A man died in waters of San Narciso, Zambales after saving his fellow workers from drowning.

Lots of people have lost their lives while swimming into the ocean. The current of the ocean and the huge waves are treacherous sometimes.

There was a drowning incident in Sarangani Province last Saturday, August 24. Eight-year-old twins drowned on a day trip to the beach with their father.

Recently, another drowning incident happened at a beach in San Narciso, Zambales on Sunday, August 25. Based on a report from Cebu Daily News, a 21-year-old man named Arnie Reyes died saving his two-co-workers while swimming in the beach.

According to the report, the PNP chief at San Narciso, Noel Sitjar, said the lifeless body of the fitness trainer from Malolos City, Bulacan, was found around 1:30 pm on August 26. The big waves dragged the two female co-workers of Reyes into the deep portion of the public beach said the investigators.

Based on the report, the man dove into the water to rescue his friend but he was washed away by the strong ocean current. Reyes went missing for several hours.

The fitness trainer’s fellow workers were taken to the nearby hospital. The heroic effort of the young man will surely be remembered by his friends forever. BulSU paid tribute to the young man through a Facebook post.
