PAGASA: Tropical Storm Ineng Speeds Up A Bit Moving Northwest

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA released a new update about tropical storm Ineng, which reportedly sped up a bit as it moves northwest.

Ineng became a severe tropical storm on August 23 (Friday) and is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 115 kilometers per hour, which was previously . 75 kilometers per hour and 90 kilometers per hour, respectively.

According to a report, the bureau said that Ineng slightly accelerated from previously reported 20 kilometers per hour to 25 kilometers per hour.

The tropical storm is also last spotted 500 kilometers east of the city of Tugegarao, Cagayan.

Signal No.2 is still raised over Batanes, while Signal No. 1 is raised in Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Northern Abra, and Ilocos Norte.

As per the report, the capital, as well as Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, Calamian and Cuyo Islands of Palawan, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rain.

On the other hand, Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao will face moderate to heavy rains.

Ineng is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday night (August 24) or Sunday morning (August 25).
