DOLE To Show Results Of Its Investigation On Eddie Garcia Death
EDDIE GARCIA – DOLE recently announced that it will show the conclusion on their probe of the death of “Manoy” Eddie Garcia on August 30.
Veteran and well-known actor Eddie Garcia tragically passed away on June 20 at the age of 90 after an accident on set of the now shelved GMA project Rosang Agimat
The show was supposed to be the big break of Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia. Many celebrities and people alike mourned the death of the legendary actor.
Recently, the Department of Labor and Employment recently announced that the results of the probe will soon to be released on August 30 (Friday).
According to Inquirer, the agency’s Regional Office, at the same time, urged the GMA Network to provide a list of all places where shoots are held for its shows in order for them to undergo inspection. The Regional Office are the ones who spearheaded the probe.
These updates came from the agency’s NCR Regional Director Sarah Buena S. Mirasol followed with a meeting the agency’s probe committee and the network’s executives to inquire the results of GMA’s own probe and the steps it too in order to avoid a similar tragedy from occurring.
As per the report, Silvestre Bello III, the department secretary, said last week that the network lacked compliance with the requirement of having a safety officer in every activity since they do not have one, which could have prevented the incident.
Mirasol revealed that the cause of death was indeed due to the accident, which contradicts the initial reports that says that the actor felt dizzy which made him fall.
Mirasol further added that they issue an authority to probe and conduct an Occupational Safety and Health Standards probe for these particularcases.
She further stressed that the accident is a unique one since the place is a temporary worksite. She then said that they cannot simply conduct the OSH since the project was already shelved.
