Reigning Mr. World Supports Transgender Candidates Joining Beauty Pageants
REIGNING MR WORLD – The reigning Mr. World, Rohit Khandelwal, said he approves transgender men joining Mister World.
The issue about the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender and queer) rights is considered one of the most sensitive topics in the world today. We can’t deny that there are still lots of people who can’t accept these other gender identities.
While the politicians in the Philippines are having a debate about the transgender restroom issue in the public places, the reigning mister world from India said he’s okay with transgender men joining the prestigious pageant.
Based on a report from PEP, Mister World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal believed that the transgender men have a place in the international male pageant. He said all people should be treated equally.
“Yeah, I believe… you know, transgenders I don’t think there has to be any differences between them… They should be welcomed just the way they are and they should be part of Mr. World,” he said.
According to the report, the 29-year-old model and tv personality believed that almost all people wished to show their talent and views to the world. Khandelwal also said that he will surely to support transgender men joining the pageant.
“Because that’s how the person is, and they wanna give their best, so I personally believe it… And I really want to support it, that they should really be part of Mister World, and be part of anything in life, as much as any other person has been,” he said.
In a previous article, Mister World 2019 candidate from Canada admitted that he was diagnosed with autism when he was just 12 years old. He said didn’t let his disorder stop him from achieving his dreams.
