DUTERTE – Philippines President Rodrigo Roa Duterte broke his silence on the still suspended lotto games small-town lottery (STL) and the Peryahan ng Bayan.

Previously, a lot of people were surprised by the sudden suspension of the lotto games of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). It was suspended on July 26 and resumed on July 31.

The suspension was under the order of the President following the allegations that there are massive corruptions in the PCSO. The state lotto games agency adhered and assured the people to appeal to the Office of the President.

On July 31, the lotto games resumed except for the small-town lottery (STL) games, the KENO, and the Peryahan ng Bayan. Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte broke his silence regarding the still suspended lotto games.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte accused the operators of STL and Peryahan ng Bayan of not remitting the rightful shares of the government. According to him, there was allegedly a cut on the remitted shares.

“Ang i-remit nila minus ‘yung kinukunan na nila So I had to stop it. Ang corruption talaga… has permitted government itself,” the President said during the oath-taking of the officials who are newly appointed.

According to the report, the state regulators also claimed that STL operators are not remitting the exact amount to the state and there was an at least P4-billion short from 2017-2018. The state lotto agency reportedly acted on the issue.

Reportedly, the President also said that he has fired officials of the Bureau of Customs (BOC). According to him, there were 64 employees and officials removed from their post but he will make it 100 if he can. It was over the alleged corruptions.

“Mahirap tanggalin lahat… But if I could get away with the 100 more, I think we’ll have a cleaner, a better Customs,” he said.
