PCSO: PACC Sets Lifestyle Check On Board Members, Ex-Chief Balutan

PACC To Investigate PCSO Board Members, Ex-Chief Alexander Balutan

PCSO – The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) will do a lifestyle check to all PCSO board members including ex-chief Alexander Balutan.

On Tuesday, July 31, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has lifted the suspension of the PCSO lotto games except for Keno, Peryahan ng Bayan (PNB), and Small-Town Lottery (STL).

The president abruptly announced the closure of all the lottery games in the country due to alleged corruption. Replacing former PCSO chief Alexander Balutan with the Cebu Philippine National Chief Royina Garma wasn’t enough to sane his mind about the corruption in the agency.

In a report, new PCSO general manager Royina Garma released a statement saying their agency still have enough funds until December 31, 2019. However, the agency will lose 30 to 50 million pesos a day.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be the one to conduct the probing in the agency.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, the general manager of PCSO is not comfortable in answering the media regarding the alleged “massive corruption” in the agency.

“Ito po’y inaaral naming para lahat po ng pwedeng pagdudahan… na maaring pumasok ang corruption, yun po ang ginagawa naming ngayon,” said Garma.
