PCSO Lost P250-M in Revenues Due To Cancellation of Lotto Operations
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said that the agency lost over P250 million in revenues due to the suspension of Lotto operations.
Last week, President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the suspension of all gaming activities operated by PCSO due to the alleged corruption happening inside the agency.
The Philippine National Police also closed all the PCSO outlets and suspend all major and minor draws including Keno, Small Town Lottery (STL), and Peryahan ng Bayan.

On Tuesday evening (July 30, 2019), President Duterte lifted the suspension and mandated the resumption of Lotto operations today (July 31).
Recently, PCSO general manager Royina Garma said that the agency lost P250 million for Lotto alone due to the cancellation of all gaming activities. She also said that Lotto sustains most of their charity services.
“P250 million [were lost]. That’s only for Lotto,” Garma said.

However, Garma explained that the PCSO still has sufficient funds to pursue the charity services despite the halt in gaming activities. The PCSO executive has also expressed the agency’s willingness to address the alleged anomalies.
