Netizens Worry As Catriona Gray Opens Up About Feeling “Really Low”
CATRIONA GRAY – Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray opened up about facing tough times.
“I really feel like I’m a Miss Philippines. I feel like a Filipina, a Filipino woman. It just so happens that when I was growing up, I was very much of an Australian. And I think you can be both because I did grow up with those two sides of the world,” she said.
Previously, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was called “fat” by Thai beauty queen Coco Arayha. The Thai compared the Filipina’s photo with a skinnier beauty queen. Arayha’s Instagram post elicited negative reactions from the online community.
Catriona spoke about body shaming on her Twitter account following her controversial photo.
“It is never, never okay to put someone down for the sake of ‘expressing your opinion.’ With words come power and we should be using those words to build someone up and not pull them down…”
“If anyone reading this, too, has been body shamed, I know how it feels… I’m sorry you’ve had to experience that. But know that you are more than your appearance. You are a capable, unique, and worthy person. And you are never alone,” she added.
On Monday, July 29, Catriona Gray opened up about ‘feeling really low’ and admitted that she felt so “down and overwhelmed.”
While the 25-year-old beauty queen did not give further details, she said she chooses to be thankful and optimistic.
Lots of her followers expressed their concern about Catriona. The post flooded with words of encouragement. Here are some of their comments on the post:
@sandralemonon: “we understand and honestly it’s mercury retrograde, love you!”
@nutta_nicha1: “Will always supporting you cat… for me you’re the real queen… Love you from Thailand”
@kjcaharian: “Just like your song Catriona ‘We’re in this together'”
