Microsoft To Collaborate Project On Ethical Artificial Intelligence

MICROSOFT – Microsoft recently announced on Monday (July 22) that they are in collaboration with an ethical AI project backed by Elon Musk and Amazon.

According to Manila Bulletin, the company said in a joint release that the amalgamate will focus on developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models on their Azure cloud and at the same time, stick to the shared principles on ethics and trust.

Open AI, the owners of the project, along with the multinational technology company, conveyed a vision of artificial general intelligence or AGI working with humans to aid in solving occurring problems like climate change.

Sam Altman, chief of OpenAI, said the aim is to allow AI to be released safely and securely and make sure that its benefits to the economy are widely distributed.

Microsoft will be the suitable aid for commercializing new and developed supercomputing AI technologies, which is part of the initiative.

Satya Nadella, chief executive of Microsoft, said that AI is by far one of the most transformative technologies of this era and it has the potential to solve many of the world’s most pressing challenges. Nadella added that democratizing AI is their ambition with OpenAI’s technology combined with their new Azure AI supercomputing technology.

As per the report, OpenAI is currently making a series of increasingly powerful AI tech that requires a lot of capital for computational power.

Tesla’s Elon Musk warned, however, that AI could also pose a threat to humanity if mishandled.
