Mikimoto Tiara Of Miss International 1970 Aurora Pijuan Up For Auction
MIKIMOTO TIARA – Aurora Pijuan, who won the Miss International 1970 pageant recently puts her crown, the Mikimoto tiara, up for auction.
According to ABS-CBN, the tiara was made by famous Japanese jewelry company Mikimoto, which was specifically designed for the woman who became Miss International in the year 1970, and it was none other than Aurora Pijuan.
Pijuan admitted that she has no idea what she will do to the tiara since it was left in the attic. She, then, finally has a purpose for the tiara. Thus she decided to put it up for auction.
The tiara is reported to be on sale from July 20 to 21 at an online auction by León Gallery, who has organized to give benefits for the 22 fisherman whose ship got sunk by a Chinese vessel in the Recto Bank last month.
Pijuan said that she will give the proceeds to the fishermen, hoping that the gift that was given to her when she won the pageant in 1970 will benefit for their needs.
As per the report, the tiara she owned was a small version of the actual Miss International 1970, in which the crown has more real jewels.
The tiara is listed on the gallery with a tarting bid of ₱60,000 but Pijuan wishes that it will reach up to ₱500,000, which was the exact amount of the donation that former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario gave to the fishermen.
Pijuan further added that since it didn’t hurt Rosario’s pocket, she will give the donation since this will not hurt her pocket as well since it was never hers to begin with.
The preview of the tiara and other items up for auction will be at the León Galleries at the W14 La Fuerza Plaza and Eurovilla 1 in Makati City.
