Is it true that Sugar Mercado was dismissed from Wowowin?
The absence of dancer-host Sugar Mercado in Kapuso primetime game show Wowowin sparked speculations that she was dismissed.
Sugar started her career in show business when she joined the all-girl dance group Sexbomb Dancers which originated in Eat Bulaga.
From that, she was given a chance to appear in the shows of the Kapuso network. Her latest stint was the game show of comedian-host Willie Revillame.
However, avid viewers of the show recently noticed her absence and people started to speculate that she was “tinanggal”, based on the report from Bandera.
Another version of the story said that Sugar asked permission to leave the show because she and her children will migrate to the US. However, this did not come directly from the dancer-host and someone quoted her with this.
In line with the absence of Sugar Mercado in the show, a source from the production team of Wowowin said that her reason for leaving is really her children.
“E, maliliit pa ang mga anak niya, single mom si Sugar, kaya kailangan talagang hands-on siya sa pagpapalaki sa mga anak niya,” the source said.
The production staff also shared that the dancer-host formally talked to Willie Revillame about her decision to leave the show.
“Maayos naman siyang nagpaalam kay Kuya Wil, wala namang problema, naintindihan naman ni kuya ang sitwasyon niya. Saka anytime na gusto niyang bumalik sa hosting, bukas pa rin ang game show para sa kanya,” the Wowowin staff member shared.
Based on the report, Sugar is one of those people in the industry who showed professionalism despite she went through a hard time in her personal life.
