New MRT-3 Rails For Rehab Project Arrives In PH
NEW MRT-3 RAILS – New rails for the Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 or MRT-3 arrived in the Philippines.
The regular and faster mode of transportation service along the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) is the Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 or MRT-3.
However, the passengers and some politicians are now complaining about the defects of the train.
In a previous article, Senator Grace Poe questioned the Department of Transportation (DOTr) about the slow rehabilitation of MRT-3.
āPag hindi tumirik, umuusok o tumutuloā¦ hindi pa ba sapat ang tatlong taon para maisaayos ang problema?ā Poe said.
The 50-year-old politician also asked why the P22 billion budget for the rehab wasnāt enough to fix the glitches.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the rails for the MRT-3 rehabilitation project arrive in the Philippines.
The cargo vessel from Japan docked at the Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. carrying the equipment for the rehab project.
According to the report, the rails arrived in Manila around 5:30 on Tuesday afternoon. The cargo ship was carrying 4,053 news 108-meter rails from Japan.
The Department of Transportation waited for the shipment to arrive. The Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. said the shipment was also checked by the Bureau of Customs.
The rails will be used for the rehabilitation project of the MRT-3 that will start before the year ends.
The DOTr said the rails that will be used for the lines from North Avenue Station to Taft Avenue Station was completely delivered. In fact, the cargo was sent to the country earlier than expected.
Based on the report, the new rails will be transported on the laydown yard of DOTr in ParaƱaque.
The agency will also overhaul the 72 trains tram and replacing the air conditioner.
