Sitting positions can determine a certain trait of a person
These are the meanings of sitting positions that are usually seen people doing with different traits and attitudes.
The sitting position which you find comfortable doing might actually telling something about you, according to an article from Cosmopolitan.
A person’s plopping patterns can tell when it comes to his or her personality, body language expert Lilian Glass, Ph.D. said. This is despite the fact that your sitting position may depend on your surroundings and a particular mood.
Here are the basic sitting positions and the meanings:
Sit erect
This means “confidence”. Doing a sitting position with straight back and feet planted on the floor shows that you are confident. You can add hand gestures to better show this trait.

Cross your legs
This means “insecurity” because this makes yourself appear smaller. However, according to Dr. Glass, there are instances that when your crossing your legs toward someone could mean that you are into that person while doing this away from the person shows otherwise.

Sit cross-legged
This means you are carefree, open-minded, and agile. “It says you’re very loose, casual, and easy-going,” Dr. Glass said.

Cross your ankles
This means that you are secure. Doing this projects the message you’ve got very little to hide.

Sit in the center of a couch or bench
This also means that you are confident as you are not thinking which side, left or right.

Use armrests
This means you are insecure as this could indicate that you are shaky who needs something to be steady.

Clasp your hands
This means that you are a people-pleaser but you have the tendency to be dishonest. Dr. Glass said that this is not a normal position that could indicate you are lying or trying to be too polite.

Cross your arms
This could show that you are angry. It could send a strong message when you point your toe away from the person who made you feel this.

Cross your wrist
This could also show insecurity. According to the article, this gesture means you are hiding your vulnerabilities by covering the inner wrists.

Keep your hands still in your lap
This means you are a close-minded person. Contrary to this, open-minded people tend to gesture widely.

Kneel
This can indicate that you are aggressive. Dr. Glass said that “it’s not a good position for making friends and influencing others”.

Splay your knees out to the side
This means you are flirtatious. According to the body language expert, this could indicate flirting to women because they tend to take up less space when trying to attract a partner.

Lean backward on your palms
This means you are judgmental. The position lets you assess a certain situation without moving to act towards it. In a simple manner, this means you are just waiting for what will happen.
