Here are the ways to check skin cancer using your smartphone.
SKIN CANCER – Here are the ways you probably want to know about this cancer using your phone to help you identify suspicious moles and marks.
Sunlight is very beneficial but too much exposure under it will cause something eventually leading to skin cancer. But here’s the good news, through your phone, you can detect it early through a handful of applications.
This cancer may develop through many factors, as such, genetics and being exposed to toxic chemicals. And the symptoms of all types of the particular cancer are: changes in size or color of mole or other spot on the skin, new growth on skin, odd skin sensations, spread of pigmentation outside the border of the mole.
Now, using these applications that can be downloaded in either IOS or android, early detection of cancer is possible:
- Miiskin – This uses mole mapping to analyze skin.
- UMSkinCheck – The app was developed of researchers at the University of Michigan (UM) school of medicine. It also provides a full body cancer in skin self-exam.
- MoleScope – It helps people identify if they need to see an expert or not to get checked. This is a product of MetaOptima that analyzes your photos using the ABCD method just the ones used by dermatologists: Asymmetry, Border, Color, and Diameter.
- SkinVision – The app claims detection of melanoma. The photos are processed through convolutional neural network (CNN). They are backed by a scientific board of dermatologists.
Note: These applications have limitations and it is still best to see an expert, a doctor or a dermatologist, to clarify your condition if in any case you have suspicious symptoms of skin cancer.
