According to a report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) dated July 1, 2019 (Monday), 2 to 3 cyclones are expected to hit the country this month.

Southern Luzon and Northern Luzon are the areas expected to experience the bad weather or it will veer to the east, according to the weather agency.

Based on the record, approximately 20 tropical cyclones enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) every year.

With this number, half will be typhoons and five can be destructive to life and property.

As heavy rain welcomed the first day of July, class suspension was declared in following areas on July 2, 2019, according to a report from ABS-CBN News.

Suspension of class in all levels:

  • Bulacan
    – Calumpit
    – Hagonoy
  • Masantol, Pampanga


Preschool to high school:

  • Macabebe, Pampanga

Meanwhile, July 2 is also declared as special non-working holiday in Pasig City through the Proclamation No. 758. This is in line with the celebration of the city’s 446th founding anniversary.
