Some Of Swift’s Fellow Artists Sided With Her Amid The Issue
ARTISTS – Scooter Braun – talent manager – bougth Taylor Swifts music catalogue from Big Machine Records and people aren’t happy.
There were rumored stories that says Taylor Swift allegedly signed a contract with a record label when she was just 15 and lacking the knowledge about her rights to her music. According to the rumors, she asked for the rights to her music but her plea was neglected.
She recently announced the release date of her new album ‘Lover’.
Recently, the pop star had a very intense reaction knowing about the fact that Scooter Braun made a deal with Big Machine Records to buy her music catalogue.
To express her dismay, she hopped into Tumblr to share her thoughts.
She apparently mentioned that she was bullied for years in the past, she said:
“Some fun facts about today’s news: I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.”
She also left a note for young artists about signing deals and negotiating that they should avoid being tricked by managers
“And hopefully, young artists or kids with musical dreams will read this and learn about how to better protect themselves in a negotiation. You deserve to own the art you make.”
Following the commotion, it turns out that other artists and Swift fans are showing up to express their support. Currently the #WeStandWithTaylor is the on top of Twitter’s trending page and all over social media.
