Use of Plastic Materials in Mindanao State University is Now Prohibited

Mindanao State University is now prohibiting the use of plastic materials to reduce plastic pollution in the environment.

Nowadays, the increasing plastic waste pollution is one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world.

Various environmental groups and private companies have already begun to exert effort to reduce plastic waste in the country.

Several business establishments and schools were already implementing measures with the aim to eliminate plastic wastes.

Recently, a Facebook user named “Rex Remitio” reported that Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology bans the use of plastic materials.

MSU-IIT is now prohibiting the use of plastics including water bottles, disposable utensils, and plastic bags.

The university also encourages the students and school faculty to use recyclable and ecologically-friendly materials as alternatives.
